About

About Alex Iosevich

Professor of Mathematics at the University of Rochester, working across harmonic analysis, geometry, combinatorics, number theory, signal recovery, and data science.

Biography

I received my B.S. in mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1989 and my Ph.D. in mathematics from UCLA in 1993 under the direction of Christopher Sogge. After positions at McMaster University, Wright State University, Georgetown University, and the University of Missouri, I joined the University of Rochester, where I have been Professor of Mathematics since 2010.

My research is driven by connections: between Fourier analysis and geometric measure theory, between continuous and finite settings, and between classical harmonic analysis and modern questions in signal recovery, learning theory, and data science.
