My name is Alex iosevich. I am a Professor of
Mathematics at the University of Rochester specializing in
harmonic analysis, geometric measure theory, geometric
combinatorics, analytic number theory, signal processing, and
data science. I am a Fellow of the American Mathematical
Society, Class of 2014, and a Simons Fellow (2026). My passion
in research is finding connections and solving problems
requiring techniques from a variety of areas of mathematics. My
publication list is contained in my
CV. My work has
been supported by a variety of NSF and NSA grants (the complete
list is in my CV).
I have been extremely fortunate throughout my career to have the
opportunity to learn from fantastic
collaborators.
I am extremely proud of my past and current
graduate
students. Some information for prospective graduate
students can be found
here.
I am equally proud of
postodoctoral
researchers I have worked with over the years, as well as
my undergraduate
honors
thesis students.
My meeting schedule can be found
here.
Another passion of mine in vertical integration of research
where undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs, and faculty
work together to produce cutting edge research. This idea is
behind
StemForAll,
the program I have been running with Azita Mayeli (CUNY) at the
University of Rochester for the past decade.
An important part of my professional life is
editorial
work.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure of being interviewed on
several occasions by mathematical and other publications. This
and other related media events I was involved with can be found
here.
